Clues (2016). Stranger Things (Title Sequence & End Credits Theme) Written & performed by Kyle Dixon & Michael Stein. Story-wise, there’s no reason for Stranger Things to take place in the 1980s. But the ’80s vibe — ringing phones, chain smoking, Winona Ryder — is there to inspire this movie, which is pretty much every ’80s supernatural movie that focuses on kids.
The amazing thing is that this tribute is dead
It’s not just the clothes and the hair, but the acting style, the approach of the script, the structure, all of it is a source of inspiration. You have young rambunctious kids, lecherous, insecure teenagers, a monster, a mysterious one with powers, bad people in science and/or government, a conflicted researcher, a tearful mother, just a pastiche made up of recycled elements, and I wouldn’t agree, but it really seems, that it is not so much a copy, but more like that era, as if the writers in 1985. would have been in a coma, woke up and started working. Although it is not; t has the high style of Spielberg’s films, which is a major influence, he has sympathy.
The story is consistently engaging and entertaining, the acting is excellent, and the film has plenty of laughs and tears
