Narrative
Four kids make a mysterious discovery on their home planet that leads them to get lost in a strange and dangerous galaxy. Jude Law in “Skeleton Crew” plus other stars from a galaxy far, far away. The holographic circus that entertains Neel’s younger siblings is the same Chewbacca family watch that appeared in the infamous Star Wars Christmas special (1978).
Then came the second episode: including flashbacks and credits, it is not even 25 minutes long
I think this series is great so far, but there is one problem that really annoys me: the running time. When I watched the first episode, I was so happy that it was about 40 minutes long. If I get 25 minutes of a series every week, I have to watch what happened the day before yesterday.
As for the actors: God, they’re kids
When you really can’t get lost in space anymore, you get used to it and that’s it. Incredibly disappointing! I probably won’t watch it for months and will try to avoid all spoilers so I can watch the whole thing next year.
It’s clear they didn’t have years of acting training
Still, the characters are likeable, the music fits, and the action isn’t exactly kid-friendly. After watching two episodes, I can’t wait to see what happens next, but unfortunately I won’t find out until next year. One Hundred Years of Solitude is one of the biggest TV and streaming releases of the month.
